I'm just a Midwestern girl who loves red lipstick, messy buns & always has her nails done.
Originally from Omaha Nebraska, we transplanted to Kansas City when I was 5 and for the most part KC has been my home ever since. I come from a family that is chocked full of creative entrepreneurs. So I guess you could say it's in my blood.
Photography has always been a passion of mine. I remember playing around with my Kodak Fun Savers and being so excited to have all those blurry 4x6 prints made at our local Dillons. The equipment and know how slowly upgraded throughout the years and now it's not only a hobby or business it's something I do everyday as a way to journal my life. I like to call my self a Jack of All Trades but Master of None. Which means I'm always willing to learn any new skill even if it means I suck at it. And trust me I do, at a lot of things. Being creative is who I am though and as silly as it sounds is what drives me everyday. That and coffee, lots and lots of coffee.
In 2003 I put on my big girl pants and added the official title of Portrait Photographer to my repertoire of things I actually do well! See what I did there LOL. My style of photography is laid back and natural with bright true colors and just a touch of depth to make things interesting. Besides a snotty nose or the oh so wonderful surprise zit you won't find a lot of "photoshopping" in my work. What you will find are moms, dads, grandparents etc just as they are right now because I believe that's what true beauty is. Capturing sweet moments and genuine smiles are my bread and butter so watch it I will call you out on a fake smile all day long.
I am also a momma of 2 amazing boys, a wiener dog and married to my high school sweetheart. When I'm not working I'm decorating our house, working on some crazy project I saw on Pinterest or hanging with my boys doing all the boy things and trying to deal with all the boy things. Suffice to say I've endured enough potty talk for a lifetime and we're just getting started. We love the outdoors and get out exploring local trails as much as possible but most weekends you'll find us on the back patio roasting marshmallows in our fireplace sipping on something tasty with our closest friends. When the grandparents call and want a sleep over (yes that really does happen and yes I know we're ridiculously lucky) you'll find the Hubs and I cozied up in some of our favorites spots around town or trying out the newest fare and libations.
Ok that was fun let's do something a little old school Teen Vogue shall we?
